OUR HISTORY
2025 - 2026
-
TWO TEAMS. ONE CLUB.
Beginning the 2025/26 season, for the first time ever, Grove Park Rangers will be fielding two teams in the MCFL.
Up the Saladsssssssss!
-
PRE-SEASON 2025 - A NEW ERA
It was a hectic but exciting pre-season for Grove Park Rangers, due in no small part to the mass influx of talented new players, the founding of a new squad and a hotly contested game of footgolf.
We welcomed Aaron-Lee Eyles, our inaugural GPR II gaffer, into the fold and he & Pete began putting together training sessions and squad planning, whilst Callum’s photo count and Marcus’ email outbox faced off in an race for the biggest admin haul of all time.
3 internal friendlies kicked us off as the gaffers assessed the players and suitability for each team, and 3 pre-season friendlies followed against good opposition to get the salad engine revving for the new season.
September is round the corner, and that means only one thing. Football is back, and we are so back.
-
SEPTEMBER 2025 - A MONTH OF FIRSTS
Sunday: the day of rest. Yeah sod that.
GPR I & II kicked off on adjacent pitches, and kicked off in style with hard fought wins against AFC Grove and London Samurai. Gavin bagged the first ever competitive GPR II goal in the team’s first win, having first of all removed a conveniently placed event floodlight from the corner flag.
The following weekend, GPR I notched back to back wins beating CB Hounslow & Abbots away thanks to a wonder-strike from Matty, in his first appearance since returning to the club. The other side of Heathrow, the IIs went down 5-2 to Hillingdon Stags despite keeper Greg scoring his first GPR goal at the 32nd game of asking. About time, mate.
September finished with GPR II taking all 3 points against Jugg Boyz FC thanks to Ross’ first goal for the club, whilst the Is fell just short against Sandgate in the cup. 4 wins from 6 games ain’t bad at all.
Debuts galore as Abel, Dave, Eden, James, John, Jonno, Jools, Josh HC, Juan, Justino, Keelan, Liam, Nik, Rabbi, Ross & Tau made their first appearances in blue & black.
On a final note, Alan & Raf sustained serious injuries that will keep them sidelined for a while, whilst Fizz & Jeff continue to recover their fitness. We wish all of them a speedy and full recovery. They’re still turning up to the games though. What a group we have.
-
OCTOBER 2025 - CUPS GALORE
October saw both clubs enter the opening stages of the cup competitions.
The IIs lost out to West Drayton in the County FA Cup but in Jack Bodkin’s cameo appearance in the gaffer’s chair, they progressed to the next round of the Roger Perry Invitational.
GPR I deservedly progressed in Roger Perry on penalties, and followed it up with a decisive victory over title contenders Club Assyria Reserves with a 3-2 victory.
A league loss for each team inbetween didn’t dent the morale, as The Salads continued to move forward in the season with some additional new players, trips to the pub and Nik celebration shots.
In other news, The Distillers is getting a refurb. Meaning our clubhouse is going to be even better. What a life!
-
NOVEMBER 2025 - WIN SOME, LOSE SOME
The Distillers has reopened following a refurbishment. Phew!
Now to the football, and it was a month of contrasting fortunes for GPR I and II. The Salads started the month with a double win, as the Is put Hounslow Wolves to the sword in the cup and GPR II fought back twice to overcome Kodak Harrow.
GPR I followed this with three thumping wins, overcoming Harefield Legion, TW Rangers and Bedfont Sundays to fly to the top of the league. A narrow defeat to Wishing Well Wanderers put a blot on the November copybook, but it was a great month nonetheless.
A learning experience for the IIs saw us lose against Jugg Boys and Kensington Dragons to large margins. Whilst a much better performance against CB Hounslow & Abbots followed, a 3-1 loss showed there’s still much to improve as we continue to build our new squad up.
Two fixtures lie ahead for both teams in December, and plenty to play for before the winter break. Shout outs to Dave & Jacob, who both had long-awaited surgeries to long-term injuries this month. Looking forward to having you back!
-
DECEMBER 2025 & JANUARY 2026 - WRAP UP
Four match weeks across two months with a busy, boozy, foody holiday inbetween. Football is tough at all levels!
GPR II had a challenging run of fixtures against sides near the top of the table, and despite the efforts, we exited the Russell Grant challenge cup to a side in the league above us and fell to three losses in the league. The goals flowed back though, with Callum putting in two MOTM performances to rediscover his form.
GPR I fared better, with back to back league wins in December to sta top of the league, and after a third victory of the season against AFC Grove (with a very mouthy touchline support) in the Russell Grant R16, we fell to a close defeat against West Drayton Reserves to bow out of the Roger Perry Invitational at the quarter final stage.
The pigs in blanket and mulled wines have been shaken off in January, and we can go into February with a fresh mindset!
-
FEBRUARY & MARCH - WEATHERING THE STORM
Sorry lads, game’s off.
That’s the sentence that hit the WhatsApp group numerous times through the second month of the year as GPR were hit with countless match cancellations at the last minute thank’s to the conditions.
Nonetheless, GPR II recorded a superb point against Celtic, in a game we deserved to win despite only having 10 men after an early red card, as Celtic stacked their team with first team players. GPR I bowed out of the cups at the start of the month before recording a big win against Heathrow Club in possibly the maddest Sunday League game of all time.
March brought some huge games for the Is, including a valuable point against title rivals Sandgate alongside two wins against Southall, whilst the IIs recovered from two bad losses at the start of the month to take two wins, including a 4-1 thumping of Celtic in the WLOF, either side of a double header loss against champions-elect Ryefield.
Onto the home straight of the season now. Big games coming up.
-
APRIL 2026 - II'S COMPANY
GPR II closed out their debut season with a tough month against some brilliant teams. The quality of Division 4 North has been better than previous seasons and our new squad of young players acquitted themselves well throughout the year.
However, 4 defeats to this month was a sideshow to the retirement of two legends, as Arran & Jules stepped back from their 11 a side playing career. Their presence on the pitch leaves a lasting legacy and will be sorely missed.
GPR I had a less eventful month, recording a huge victory over Wishing Well Wanderers before our match against Harefield was called off due to their “pitch having staff shortages” and they declined our offer to host. Make of that what you will. Oh well, 6 points is a win.
3 big games to close out the season in May.

PRE-SEASON 2024
AN UPHILL START
A new year, and a new beginning. The 2024/25 season began with a new kit, a clubhouse, and a very tough pre-season against a blend of Division 2, 3 and 4 opponents.
The Salads, however, played valiantly, winning three games and losing four. Given the quality of the opposition faced this was a roaring success, and now we cannot wait for the proper games to begin.
-
SEPTEMBER 2024
THE SALAD BOWL
Who would have thought it? GPR Home played GPR Away, highlighting the depth of our squad and availability of the players. It was GPR Away who came home with the victory this time, although next time GPR Home will be looking to snatch back the crown of Caesar Salad.
3 games in September yielded 6 points to start the season well, with resident goalscorer Rory bagging 7 goals to scoop up the Player of the Month award. Roll on October!
-
OCTOBER 2024
WAKE ME UP WHEN OCTOBER ENDS
A tough month for The Salads. Despite some decent performances, a 3-1 cup win against West Drayton Reserves was a bright spark sandwiched between two very close losses and a fair defeat in the Russell Grant Challenge Cup.
The cups now in the rear view mirror, the focus returns to the league. If we knuckle down, we can get the results. Probably.
-
NOVEMBER 2024
EVERY DOG HAS IT’S DELAY
Sundays without 10:30 kick-offs aren’t half dull. A cup weekend and a postponed Roger Perry Round 3 tie meant just two games this month. One, a hard fought 1-0 away win and clean sheet. The other? Less said about the result the better.
The positives? New home kits arrived, no major injury updates and a dog in Wormwood Scrubs fancied a run-out at left wing mid match. We’re hoping for more games in December!
-
DECEMBER 2024
A FITTING FAREWELL
To 2024? To the old kits? To the gaffer? Why not all three. And that’s what we got. Three wins out of three, 12 goals scored, only 1 conceded and maximum points to finish off the calendar year and bid a heartfelt goodbye to a Salad legend.
Manager Jack and photographer Chrissie depart having contributed an uncategorical amount to the club’s success. Expect tears at the Christmas Party, and a pledge to go again in 2025.
-
JANUARY 2025
THE MASCULINE MYSTIQUE
Only two games this month due to the weather playing its part. Our first game back was a tough nut to crack in the cup. Suffice to say, we advanced to the next round, taking us into unknown territory. A loss to Pro FA followed, but they’re a damn good team and a 1-0 is by no menas a bad result.
It’s great to be back into the swing of things. February throws up three very tasty fixtures, so we’ll need to have our heads up ready for the challenge.
-
FEBRUARY 2025
SEVENTH HEAVEN?
GPR ended February as quarter finalists and league leaders, as The Salads rode out a perfect month in style against several different challenges.
The month began with a triumphant win over Chiswick Celtic Reserves and ended on a gritty 3-2 victory over the delightful & charming Prince’s Park, with a huge win over Kensington Dragons including a Magic Mike hat-trick.
March beckons, and we are sitting pretty in the home stretch.
-
MARCH 2025
SCANDALS, SCREAMERS AND SALAD DAYS
It began with consecutive season-defining performances in March as The Mighty Salads took their game to a new level week after week.
A 7-0 thrashing of DAR was then followed by the cup semi-final against Pro FA Hammersmith, a game that will forever go down in Salad folklore. A screamer & a last minute equaliser wasn’t enough to see us through, but wow. Just wow.
A 3-3 draw against champions-elect Newton City followed, as we ended their 100% record, and we moved onto our final fixture.
-
APRIL 2025
SEASON THREE ENDS ON A HIGH (MOSTLY)
It was time to go back to DAR for two back-to-back fixtures to end a memorable season.
A below-par innings in the first fixture meant three points dropped, but we finished with a 2-2 draw to see out the season with a full team of legitimate players.
It’s exciting times here, but it’s time to reflect and have a well-earned break. Anybody who can call themselves a Salad has contributed to making this team what it is.
